Cathy Bustos has 25 years of law enforcement experience with the Copperas Cove Police Department and the Cedar Park Police Department in Texas. She has been involved in multiple critical incidents in her career as an officer and the spouse of an officer. Currently she is pursuing her Psychology Degree through Texas State University.
Cathy has always had a passion for helping her fellow First Responders. In 1998 she was certified through the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation as Peer Support. In 1998 she began to teaching Critical Stress Management at Central Texas College in Killeen, TX.
Cathy is a 2010 Leadership Command College graduate with LCC Class #64 from the Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management Institute. The LCC is a highly sought after program for Law Enforcement leadership and has been compared to the FBI National Academy.
Cathy served as team coordinator for the Cedar Park Police Department Critical Incident Response Team. She is a peer support volunteer for the Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management Institute – Post Critical Incident Seminar. She has volunteered for the United States Marshals Service Critical Incident Team as Support Services during National Police Week in Washington, DC for Concerns of Police Survivors.
Cathy is certified in Group and Individual Critical Incident Stress Management and an approved Instructor with The International Critical Incident Stress Foundation. She is a speaker for 1st Responder Conferences and Blue Help Conferences. She also serves on the board of directors for The Institute for Responder Wellness.Email Cathy
