Curtis Laurence is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Board Approved Supervisor in the state of Texas who provides individual, couples, and family therapy as a contract therapist for Dr. Tania Glenn and Associates, P.A. He has worked with Tania Glenn since 2007, providing therapeutic services to first responders, the military, and their families. Curtis is honored to have the opportunity to provide the highest quality of service possible to those who have dedicated their lives to helping, protecting, and sacrificing for others.
After completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin in 1998, he started his career in the field working with children and adolescents at a residential treatment center. After completing his Master’s degree in Social Work in 2001, from UT-Austin, he worked for six years at Child Protective Services both as a caseworker and a supervisor. He was then employed as a therapist at an out-patient mental health center and employee assistance program.
Mr. Laurence is trained in providing cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, and collaborative therapy to help children and adults with a wide variety of presenting issues including trauma, abuse and neglect, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, anger management, and parenting related concerns. He is able to adapt his approach to fit the needs of the client. This is accomplished by utilizing an Outcome-Informed orientation that focuses on the common factors inherent in all therapy models that research has shown helps produce positive outcomes in therapy such as client strengths, empathy, the therapeutic relationship, obtaining feedback, and monitoring progress throughout the therapy process.
